The Latta Cross Country team hosted its 2nd Annual Viking Glow Voyage 5K Saturday night with the help of Run for Christ Timing, bringing together runners, walkers, families, and community members for an evening filled with energy, excitement, and plenty of glow.
Nearly 100 community members participated in the 5K, which began at the Latta Football Stadium before winding through the Vikings Greenway, Latta Recreation Fields, and Latta Softball and Baseball Fields, before finishing on the track at the stadium.
The evening also featured a Kids Dash for children ages 12 and under, with more than 75 young runners participating before the start of the 5K. Their enthusiasm helped set the tone for an exciting night and showcased the strong support for youth and athletics throughout the Latta community.
Latta Cross Country Head Coach Anna Rogers said the event was about much more than running. “The Viking Glow Voyage was more than just a race, it was a night full of laughter, lights, community, and memories. Seeing our Viking Cross Country team, families, friends, and community members all come together to run, cheer, and support one another made the night incredibly special. We were also so thankful to team up with Run for Christ Timing to help bring the event to life. It was exciting to see so many people come out, enjoy the evening, and support our cross country program.”
The success of the Viking Glow Voyage would not have been possible without the tremendous support of local businesses, community organizations, volunteers, families, and participants. Their generosity, time, and encouragement helped make the second annual event a HUGE success.
The Latta Cross Country team is especially grateful to the many community and business partners who invested their time and resources to support the event. Their continued support helps create opportunities for families to come together while encouraging local youth and supporting the Latta Cross Country program.
From the youngest Kids Dash participants to the runners and walkers who completed the 5K, the Viking Glow Voyage was a celebration of community, fitness, and Viking pride, a bright night filled with memories that will last well beyond the finish line.
